Environmental Aspects of Property Development
This course is designed for economic development and commercial real estate professionals to gain a basic understanding of the environmental aspects of property development. Participants will explore the history of the environmental regulations that led to the use of Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), the rationale behind conducting these assessments, and their key components, The course also covers various types of environmental assessments, remediation, and mitigation along with the corresponding work products that these professionals are likely to encounter. Additionally, common environmental acronyms and terms are explained. By the end of this course, participants will have a deeper understanding of the role environmental assessment, remediation, and mitigation plays in property development, enhancing their ability to work with environmental regulators, consultants, and attorneys when navigating projects with environmental issues.
